Job summary

Cantex is seeking a Charge Nurse (LVN/LPN) in Plano, TX to deliver direct patient care and provide nursing leadership within a long-term care setting. The role oversees care delivery per physician orders, supervises CNAs, and maintains compliance with licensure requirements to ensure safety and quality outcomes.

The position requires an LVN/LPN license in the state, at least one year of supervisory experience, and English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing School with a current LVN/LPN license in the applicable state.
• Minimum of one year of supervisory experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Observe, assess, document, and report patient conditions and changes per policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation related to patient assessments and nursing activities.
• Consult with RNs and Nurse Managers regarding changes in patient condition.
• Receive, transcribe, and execute physician orders using approved methods and procedures.
• Implement care plans and administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Assign duties to CNAs and monitor delivery of patient care services.
• Ensure incidents are documented and reported per standards.
• Lead and coach staff while supporting performance and counseling as needed.
• Coordinate availability and maintenance of equipment and supplies used in care delivery.
• Notify attending physicians of significant changes in patient condition.
• Maintain quality assurance logs and operation of clinical equipment.
• Promote a safe environment and abuse prevention; perform other duties as assigned.
