Job summary

Cantex is seeking a Charge Nurse (LVN/LPN) to provide direct patient care and nursing leadership in a long-term care setting. The role oversees care delivery in line with physician orders, accepted nursing practices, and licensure requirements.

The Charge Nurse assesses patients, coordinates care plans, administers medications, and supervises CNAs to promote safety and quality outcomes. Open positions: Double Weekend. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Observe, assess, document, and report patient conditions per policies and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation of patient assessments and nursing care activities.
• Coordinate with RNs and Nurse Managers on changes in patient condition.
• Receive and execute physician orders following approved procedures.
• Implement care plans and administer medications as prescribed.
• Supervise CNAs and monitor delivery of patient care services.
• Report accidents and significant events per clinical policies and standards.
• Lead and coach staff; provide occasional counseling as needed.
• Coordinate equipment, supplies, medication carts, and other resources.
• Notify attending physicians of significant changes in patient condition.
• Maintain quality assurance logs and proper operation of clinical equipment.
• Promote a safe environment and abuse prevention; perform other duties as assigned.
