Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Charge Nurse to provide transformational shift leadership, coordinate patient flow, and uphold safety, quality, and patient experience across the unit. As a frontline clinical leader, you will support nurses, facilitate interdisciplinary rounds, and ensure standard work is followed while promoting staff well‑being and professional growth.

Requirements include Georgia RN licensure, an Associates Degree in Nursing, at least 1 year in direct patient care

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia.
• National certification in a clinical or leadership specialty within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Executes leader standard work each shift to promote reliable operations.
• Leads tiered huddles and uses visual management to identify abnormalities and coordinate countermeasures.
• Facilitates structured escalation of barriers using safety tools and chain of command.
• Applies rapid-cycle improvement (PDCA/A3) to address recurring barriers and drive improvement.
• Captures unit-level issues and outcomes to support governance and continuous improvement.
• Coaches staff to reinforce accountability, continuous improvement, and evidence-based practice.
• Coordinates daily staffing assignments based on patient acuity and unit census.
