Job summary

Halifax Health is seeking a Variable Charge Registered Nurse to supervise a nursing care unit for the shift. You will delegate assignments, lead daily operations, and ensure safe, compassionate care within ANA standards and hospital policy.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in hourly rounding, and mentor unlicensed personnel and licensed nurses on the unit. Florida RN licensure and leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed or eligible for RN licensure in Florida.
• Bachelor's Degree (BSN or healthcare related) required, or enrolled in BSN program.
• Minimum of 5 years of recent clinical experience.
• One year of previous charge experience required.
• Specialty certification required per department (ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, etc.).
• Experience with the Meditech program preferred.
• Professional interpersonal communication with patients, families, colleagues and staff required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead nursing care unit for the shift.
• Complete staffing and nursing assignments for current and oncoming shift.
• Participate in hourly rounding and ensure compliance.
• Delegate to Unlicensed Assistive Personnel and Licensed Practical Nurses.
• Ensure care provided aligns with ANA Scope and Halifax Health policies.
