Job summary

Kaweah Delta Health Care District is seeking an experienced RN leader to serve as a primary clinical resource on the Ortho/Neuro unit. The role includes mentorship, staffing coordination, and ensuring effective collaboration with physicians and staff.

The position emphasizes leadership in clinical decision making, interdisciplinary communication, and regulatory compliance within a high-acuity environment. A CA RN license and BLS are required, with crisis intervention training due within 60 days

Qualifications

• CA RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Crisis intervention training within 60 days of hire/transfer.
• Preferred: nationally recognized specialty certification per Core Curriculum Pathway.
• Preferred: BSN/MSN or RN-BSN in progress.
• Minimum of two years RN experience in specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Primary clinical resource for staff on assigned unit; acts as role model and mentor.
• Provides leadership and support through problem solving and decision making.
• Leads staff in clinical assessment, decisions and advocacy for patients and staff.
• Supports nurse preceptors and new employees during orientation; ensures float staff orientation.
• Manages staff and patient flow; plans staffing, assigns admissions and transfers.
• Ensures SBAR communication and physician collaboration; coordinates care in high-risk situations.
• Keeps Nurse Manager/Director informed of critical patients and unit issues; facilitates staff development and performance input.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and proper documentation of patient care.
