Job summary

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is seeking a Charge RN in Labor and Delivery to oversee a department of frontline nurses and uphold high standards of patient care. You will advocate for your team, support their growth, and align with departmental goals to ensure safe, compassionate maternity care.

You will also coach staff, evaluate care, and handle ethical discussions, while maintaining standard of care and driving improvements in patient safety and team performance.

Qualifications

• Associate Of Nursing is required.
• RN License AZ is required for Arizona.
• American Heart Association certification is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification is required.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a *Charge RN in Labor and Delivery*, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in Labor and Delivery

Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives.

To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

• Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education.
• Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department.
• Evaluates care given by staff.
• Coaches to improve care.
• Ensures standard of care is maintained.
• Exhibits a general understanding of the process for dealing with ethical dilemmas and understands and coordinates the process for obtaining an Ethics Consult.

Pay Range

$42.85 - $63.77 /hour
