Job summary

Community Health System in Fresno, CA is seeking a Charge Nurse to oversee daily clinical operations and support the care team, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care. You will serve as the main liaison for physicians, staff, patients and families, coordinating patient flow and guiding staff assignments.

You will lead with purpose, grow leadership skills and make a visible impact each shift, backed by a team that values your judgment and commitment to excellent care.

Qualifications

• Current RN license to practice in California
• BLS for Healthcare Providers
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire or transfer
• Experience as a staff RN in the assigned area or demonstrated competency per RN Competency Model Evaluation

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

Experience

• 2 years of experience as a staff RN in the area of assignment or demonstrated competency by achieving a minimum of 35 points on the RN Competency Model Evaluation form required
• 6 months of experience as a Relief Charge RN or in a team leadership role required

Licenses and Certifications

• RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California required
• BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Certifications as required for the unit
• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer
