Job summary

Community Health System is seeking a Charge Nurse to oversee daily clinical operations and support the care team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care in the assigned unit.

You will coordinate patient flow, guide staff assignments and take responsibility for patient safety, quality and regulatory activities across the unit, leading with purpose and visibility on every shift.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in California required.
• Minimum 2 years as staff RN in the area of assignment or demonstrated competency by RN Competency criteria.
• 6 months of experience as a Relief Charge RN or in a team leadership role.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• Certifications as required for the unit.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main liaison for your assigned area, coordinating with physicians, staff, patients and families.

• Education High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate requiredExperience
• 2 years of experience as a staff RN in the area of assignment or demonstrated competency by achieving a minimum of 35 points on the RN Competency Model Evaluation form required
• 6 months of experience as a Relief Charge RN or in a team leadership role requiredLicenses and Certifications
• RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California required
• BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Certifications as required for the unit
