Job Description
Pennybyrn has opportunities for Charge Nurses (RN or LPN) on 2nd shift to work within Skilled Nursing or Assisted Living. Positions available are PRN, part‑time, and full‑time.
Responsibilities
This position’s schedule is 3:00 pm‑11:00 pm, Monday‑Friday. The Charge Nurse performs duties within the scope of practice as defined by the NC Nursing Practice Act. Duties include assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting on patient plans of care within skilled nursing or short‑term stay households, as well as promoting and modeling person‑directed care within the mission and values of the organization.
Pay Rates
- LPNs: $26 – $30 per hour
- RNs: $30 – $35 per hour
Shift Differentials
- $2.00 for weekday 2nd and 3rd shifts
- $1.50 for weekend 1st shift
- $3.50 for weekend 2nd and 3rd shifts

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed as a nurse in good standing with the North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Previous experience with geriatric residents preferred
- Good physical and mental health
- Able to walk and stand for long periods of time
- Able to assist with lifting, turning, and positioning residents in excess of 100 lbs.
- Able to push and manipulate equipment in excess of 50 lbs.
