Job summary

Camber Mental Health (a Camber entity) is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN) to lead nursing staff in a pediatric psychiatric setting in Olathe, KS. The Charge Nurse will guide patient care, ensure safe operations, and support staff development on the shift.

Responsibilities include directing licensed and non-licensed staff, coordinating with physicians and families, and maintaining documentation and program safety. 2+ years in psychiatric nursing with pediatric experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Kansas.
  • Psychiatric nursing experience or ANCC certification preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required.
  • Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience, including work with children/adolescents.

Position Summary

The Charge Nurse oversees and coordinates patient care activities during the assigned shift, providing direction to both licensed and non-licensed nursing personnel. This role plays a key part in staff development, performance evaluation, and maintaining a high standard of care. You will serve as the on-site leader in the absence of management, support crisis response efforts, and help ensure a safe, therapeutic environment for all patients.

What You Bring
Education
Licensure/Certification

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas

ANCC Psychiatric Nursing Certification preferred

Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience or ANCC certification in psychiatric nursing

Experience working with children and adolescents

Preferred Experience

More than 2 years supervising RNs in a psychiatric care setting

Experience with electronic medication administration records (eMAR) and electronic health records (EHR)

Shift Differentials:
  • Eligible for weekend differential ($2/hr), evening differential ($3/hr), and preceptor differential ($2/hr)
