Job summary

Camber Mental Health in Olathe, KS is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for pediatric mental/behavioral health, night shift (7pm–7am). Full or part time with competitive shift differentials. You will administer medications, perform health assessments, collaborate with treatment teams, document care, and support patient safety in an acute psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Complete nursing assessments and documentation within required timelines.
• Perform ongoing assessments and monitor vital signs per policy.
• Administer medications, including psychotropic and PRN medications, and document accurately.
• Monitor infection control, respond to injuries and emergencies, and provide first aid as needed.
• Communicate with physicians, guardians, and treatment teams regarding patient health.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all medical interventions, orders, and records.

At Camber, nursing is more than medication administration—it’s about safeguarding the physical and mental wellbeing of the individuals we serve. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be a vital clinical presence, responding to medical needs, supporting treatment teams, and ensuring safe, timely, and compassionate care.

This role supports the overall health and safety of acute psychiatric patients through medication administration, health assessments, infection control, documentation, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and consultation with direct care staff

Complete nursing assessments and documentation within required timelines.

Perform ongoing assessments and monitor vital signs per policy.

Administer medications, including psychotropic and PRN medications, and document accurately.

Monitor infection control, respond to injuries and emergencies, and provide first aid as needed.

Communicate with physicians, guardians, and treatment teams regarding patient health.

Maintain accurate documentation of all medical interventions, orders, and records.

Partner with the staff nutritionist to meet patient dietary needs and report allergies.

Participate in treatment planning, staff training, and patient education groups.

Assist with lab specimen collection and ensure timely pharmacy coordination.

Support safety and wellbeing by following all KVC procedures and protocols.

Required Qualifications

One-year nursing certificate from an accredited college or technical school

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Kansas

Valid driver’s license and auto insurance

Shift Differentials:

• Eligible for weekend differential ($2/hr), evening differential ($3/hr), and preceptor differential ($2/hr)
