Charge Line Operator
Location: New Lisbon, WI Shift: 1st - 5 am - 1:30 p.m. Mandatory overtime on a regular basis.
Position Summary:
Charge, test, and troubleshoot refrigeration units.
Responsibilities:
- Evacuate, charge, test, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration units in a production environment.
- Pull a vacuum on refrigeration systems and charge units with the proper type and amount of refrigerant.
- Perform refrigerant recovery in accordance with established procedures.
- Pressure test and leak check refrigeration systems, identifying and correcting leaks as needed.
- Operate and interpret refrigeration gauges, system pressures, and chart recorders to verify proper unit performance.
- Perform electrical testing and diagnostics using digital multimeters and Hipot testing equipment.
- Verify unit operating parameters and ensure products meet quality and performance standards.
- Move units to designated testing areas as required.
- Maintain accurate test and performance records.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Reports to the Production Lead.
Essential Functions:
- The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- The ability to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- The ability to talk and hear.
- The ability to climb and balance.
- The ability to lift more than 60 pounds.
- The ability to see up close (20 inches or less) and at a distance (to 20 feet or more), use peripheral vision, have good depth perception, and focus.
- The ability to work around fumes or chemicals.
- The ability to work with explosives or risk of electrical shock.
- The ability to wear all required safety equipment.
- The ability to work in a loud environment.
- The ability to work in a dry and sometimes dusty environment.
- The ability to be physically active throughout your shift.
Qualifications:
- Must understand and follow all safe operating procedures and requirements.
- Must have passed refrigeration training and possess refrigeration experience/knowledge.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings, charts, tables, and technical data.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.
- Proficient in the use of digital multimeters, Hipot testing units, refrigerant charge machines, refrigerant leak detectors, and other handheld tools.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including decimals, fractions, and basic formulas.
- Computer proficiency, including the ability to learn and use the EPICOR ERP system.
- Understanding of the Merchandiser production process.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and execute instructions with minimal supervision.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Possess a cooperative attitude and work effectively as part of a team.
- Welding, brazing, and soldering experience preferred.
