Job summary

Qorvo, Inc. in Greensboro, NC seeks a Characterization Engineer to develop test plans for mobile cellular RF products and to evaluate electrical performance from RF tests.

You will work with RF test equipment (VNA, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator), analyze RF data, review results with the Product Design Team, and help design test scripts and data processing workflows, and contribute to hardware/software test needs.

Hybrid work permitted: 3 days in the office and up to 2 days from home.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and related RF test experience (internship or 6 credit hours)
• Ability to analyze RF test data and present to a technical audience (Product Design Team)
• Familiarity with RF test equipment and basic analog/digital electronics

DUTIES:

Responsible for generating test plans for Mobile Cellular Radio Frequency (RF) products. Evaluates electrical performance from tests using various data analysis tools. This specifically involves working with theory and/or operation of RF test equipment such as VNA, Spectrum Analyzer, and Signal Generator; RF devices, such as Amplifiers, filters, couplers; analog, digital electronics, data analysis involving RF test data; and software that can be used to control the device under test and measure various parameters. Additionally, responsibilities include generating and reviewing performance reports with product design teams; evaluating test hardware and software needs for new product development; and generating scripts/algorithms for processing electrical test data.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, and 6 months of experience, an internship, or 6 credit hours to involve experience or knowledge of: (1) familiarity with theory and/or operation of RF test equipment such as VNA, Spectrum Analyzer, and Signal Generator; (2) familiarity with theory of RF devices, such as Amplifiers, filters, couplers etc., and their corresponding key performance measurements (S-parameters, Noise Figure); (3) knowledge of analog, digital electronics; (4) Ability to analyze and interpret RF Test data and present to larger technical audience (Product Design Team); and (5) Experience with LabView or other similar software that can be used to control test equipment and/or device under test in order to collect various measurements. Hybrid Work Permitted: 3 days in the office and may work 2 days from home office.
