Job summary

Qorvo in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Characterization Engineering Intern who will work on automated test software, RF measurements, and data analysis to support product characterization.

You will learn from mentors, participate in testing, and develop tools for data visualization and lab efficiency. Pursuing a BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering with GPA 3.0+ is required; Python and C# exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Experience with Python, C# or similar OO language.
• Exposure to data analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, R) or similar.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organizational and planning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Create automated test software to control test equipment and run test sequences.
• Assist design and development of test hardware for RF measurements.
• Support RF characterization testing and data analysis for product compliance.
• Measure RF products and test devices using spectrum and network analyzers, signal generators, and pattern generators.
• Develop data visualization tools and improve lab efficiency with lean manufacturing metrics.

Qorvo’sCharacterization Engineering Internshipsare offered in our Advanced Cellular business group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

Responsibilities may include:

• Creatingautomated test software to control test equipment and execute test sequences
• Assisting on the design and development of test hardware solutions to perform complex RF measurements
• Performing RF test equipment evaluation and down selection
• Supporting RF characterization testing and data analysis to provide full compliance information on Qorvo products
• MeasuringRF products and test devices using test equipment like spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators and digital pattern generators
• Processing, verifying and analyzingthe measured data; producingclear concise presentations and reports
• Developing custom tool sets to aid in data visualization and big data analysis, lab efficiency tracking, and lean manufacturing metrics

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a BS, MS,or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Programming Language Exposure: Python, C# or similar object-oriented language
• Exposure to data analysis software or languages: Spotfire, JMP, R, or similar
• Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Effective organization skills for systematic planning and scheduling

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the Company.

Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience: $31/hr - $42/hr (subject to change dependent on physical location)

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Qorvo reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as external competitiveness and internal comparability.
