Chapter Engagement Lead — Baltimore County

Job summary

BBYO is seeking a Chapter Specialist to collaborate with Baltimore County teens, creating engaging, fun programming and helping chapters grow through coaching on recruitment and retention. You will support calendar planning, attend events, and mentor youth leaders while tracking key metrics to inform strategy.

The role requires in-person work, a minimum of 5 hours per week, and proximity to Baltimore County. Prior BBYO or youth-organization experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 3 years removed from high school.
• Role has in-person responsibilities. Candidate must live within or close to Baltimore County.
• Active participation at local chapter programs is required. Chapters program on average 2 – 4x a month.
• Ability to transport self to and from chapter or regional events.
• The number of hours worked per week is flexible, but at minimum 5 hours per week.
• A creative and responsible self-starter who is comfortable with initiative and collaboration with teens.
• A background in BBYO or similar youth/Jewish organization is preferred but not required.
• Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Must be available for Baltimore Council Kickoff (8/29), NRE Regional Convention (12/18 — 12/20), and Baltimore Council Convention (4/2 — 4/4); staff International Convention in Baltimore (2/9 — 2/15) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with teens (grades 8 – 12) to create impactful, fun, and dynamic programming.
• Coach teens on recruitment and retention strategies to grow chapters and engagement.
• Support teens in building and executing chapter calendars with a consistent programming cadence.
• Be present at chapter events and meetings, providing guidance and mentorship as the adult in the room.
• Ensure chapter participation in region-wide initiatives and organization-wide initiatives.
• Track and analyze chapter data including attendance, engagement, and membership trends.
• Build relationships and maintain communication with members, parents, and community partners.
• Participate as part of the regional team to share innovative ideas and best practices.
