Job summary

Socket.dev in the Bay Area is seeking a BBYO Chapter Specialist to energize teen programming across Bay Area chapters. You will partner with educators and volunteers to create engaging activities and lead chapter initiatives, guided by a mission to empower Jewish teens.

The role is in-person, requires evenings and weekend work, and offers 8–12 hours per week at $20–$22 per hour for the September 2026–June 2027 period, with additional weekend Saturday events.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 3 years removed from high school.
  • In-person responsibilities; candidate must live within or near San Jose.
  • Minimum 5 hours per week; evenings and weekends required.
  • Creative, responsible self-starter able to work with teens.
  • Background in BBYO or similar youth/Jewish organization preferred but not required.
  • Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with teens to create engaging, fun, and dynamic programming.
  • Coach teens on how to run their chapters.
  • Be present at chapter events and meetings.
  • Support teens in building chapter calendars.
  • Create high quality programs with teens.
  • Keep chapters updated on movement initiatives.
  • Help attract and retain members to grow chapters.
  • Oversee attendance data and event registrations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to bring new ideas to the community.
  • Facilitate communication among chapters, parents, and community members.
  • Monthly meetings with a cohort of other chapter specialists.
