GEO Group seeks a Chaplain to facilitate, schedule and coordinate all religious and volunteer programs for the institution, providing spiritual guidance and pastoral education to detainees and staff.

The role involves visiting living areas and hospitals, directing religious services, orientation for new detainees, and ensuring compliance with policies and standards while engaging with community religious resources.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in clinical pastoral education
• Meets the certification standards of the American Correctional Chaplains Association
• Credentialed to conduct religious services as per denomination
• Current ecclesiastical endorsement by an appropriate certifying body
• Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent training required
• Good presentation, communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Provides spiritual guidance and clinical pastoral education
• Visits detainees in living areas or hospital wards regularly
• Directs and coordinates religious programs and training of lay and clergy volunteers
• Conducts worship services, sacraments and religious education for detainees
• Orients newly-arrived detainees to chaplain’s office and current programs
• Ensures religious programs comply with policies and standards
• Maintains relationships with community religious resources and approves donations
• Counsels detainees, family members and staff
• Maintains attendance and confidential records
• Ensures equal status and protection for all religions
• Performs other duties as assigned
