The GEO Group, Inc. seeks a Chaplain to provide religious and spiritual opportunities for inmates. The role schedules and coordinates services, counseling, and outside volunteer opportunities within the facility, supporting the psychology team's goals.

The position emphasizes facilitating religious education programs, outreach to faith communities, and ensuring equal access to all inmate religions. A pastoral background and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to understand and carry out moderately complex oral and written instructions.
• Ability to deal with people in changing and complex situations.
• General clerical aptitude. Knowledge of business English and ability to develop correspondence and reports.
• Ability to work with computers and standard software used by the department.

Responsibilities

• Provides religious counseling and spiritual guidance within the facility.
• Plans and coordinates all religious services and training of volunteers from faiths represented by the inmate population.
• Assists in notifications to family and inmates when illness, injury, or death occurs.
• Assists in developing and maintaining communication with community groups and approves equipment and donations for the religious program.
