Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, KS seeks a Chaplain PRN to provide spiritual care to patients and families, especially during crises and loss. The role is on-call and represents the Department of Pastoral Care in a hospital setting.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree, a Master’s of Divinity or equivalent preferred, and CPE units or ordination/endorsement. Prior hospital chaplaincy experience is valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree required or equivalent.
  • Master's of Divinity or equivalent preferred.
  • CPE units or equivalent in mental health/counseling preferred.
  • Ordination/endorsement from denomination or faith community required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide spiritual care and support to patients and families, especially in crises.
  • Serve as on-call representative for the Department of Pastoral Care.
  • Work ecumenically within an interdisciplinary healthcare setting.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Under supervision of Lead Pastoral Care/Staff Chaplain, the Chaplain-PRN isresponsible forworking primarily in an On-Call capacityas a representative of the Department of Pastoral Care, to provide Spiritual Care and support to patients and families especially in times of crisis, grief and loss. This position requiresa strong senseof pastoral identity and an ability to minister ecumenically in an interdisciplinary setting, providing pastoral care in terms of the spirituality of the receiver.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Bachelors Degree, or Masters Degree from an accredited college
  • Master's of Divinity or equivalent preferred
  • At least 2 units of certified Clinical Pastoral Education, CPE (CPSP, CPEI or ACPE) or equivalent in the field of mental health, psychology and counseling, etc. preferred
  • Previous experience working as a pastoral caregiver in a healthcare setting or equivalent clinical experience
  • Previous experience in an acute care environment, hospital/healthcare facility
  • Ordination/endorsement from denomination or faith community for professional ministry

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 340+ bed facility offering acute medical services to our patients. We are Johnson County’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center.
