Job summary

Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, FL is seeking a Chaplain 1 in Spiritual Health & Education to provide spiritual support to patients, visitors and staff, using active listening, empathy, crisis management and appropriate religious resources in a busy hospital setting.

Under supervision, you will participate in interdisciplinary rounds, educate on Advanced Directives, and maintain ministry relationships across units while meeting regulatory requirements and responding to on-call needs.

Qualifications

• ACPE Internship and Residency completed.
• Ordination or endorsement by an ecclesiastical body.
• Board Certification by APC/NAJC/NACC/NAVAC.
• At least one year of clinical experience post-residency in a hospital.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care to patients, visitors and staff.
• Fulfills on-call duty including overnight and weekend coverage.
• Assess spiritual needs and guide families in faith during illness and stress.
• Respond to Code Blue/Trauma Alerts and inform families.
• Develop ongoing relationships with patients and families across units.
• Educate on Advanced Directives and related healthcare documents.
• Maintain collaboration with medical, nursing and other departments.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and regulatory meetings.
• Contribute to ongoing professional development and training.
