The State of Illinois, Department of Corrections, is seeking a dedicated Chaplain I to oversee the spiritual development and full-spectrum religious support for all faiths within the facility. You will engage with inmates, provide counseling, and coordinate chaplain services in a respectful, equitable environment.

The position requires an MDiv (or equivalent), ordination, and one year of pastoral care experience, with clinical pastoral education.

Formación

• Requires Master of Divinity (MDiv) or equivalent ordained/licensed by a recognized denomination.
• One year of pastoral care experience in hospital, healthcare, institutional, or local ministry setting.
• One or more units of accredited clinical pastoral education.

Responsabilidades

• Provide religious services for all faiths.
• Prepare reports and correspondence pertaining to chaplaincy area.
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for individuals in custody.
• Prepare and conduct formal religious services and rites.
