Job summary

AccentCare Inc. in Westminster, CO is seeking a Hospice Chaplain to join a dedicated team delivering compassionate spiritual care to patients and families in hospice services.

This full-time role includes on-call rotation and coverage for Arapahoe, Boulder, and Broomfield counties. The position requires a Master’s degree, board certification (BCC) and ACPE CPE units, with extensive experience in healthcare chaplaincy and hospice settings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited college, university or divinity school.
• Ordained, credentialed, or commissioned according to the practices of a legitimate and recognized religious organization or faith tradition.
• Four ACPE CPE units required.
• CPE equivalencies granted per established guidelines of professional organizations.
• Five years full-time experience as a Healthcare Chaplain.
• Board Certification (BCC) from APC/NAJC/NACC/CASC.
• CT state: minimum three-years’ experience providing pastoral or spiritual care.

Responsibilities

• Support families through anticipatory grief and post-death bereavement processes.
• Complete the spiritual needs assessment of a patient and family for hospice services.
• Serve as liaison to the patient and family’s community of faith.
• Respond to patient and family needs.
• Support patient and family’s clergy or other spiritual caregivers as relates to terminal illness.
• Build relationships of care and empower patients and families in their spiritual journey.

Be the Best Spiritual Counselor III You Can Be

If you meet these qualifications, we would love to meet you:

• Master’s degree, required, from an accredited college, university or divinity school
• Ordained, credentialed, or commissioned according to the practices of a legitimate and recognized religious organization or faith tradition
• Four Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) unit, from ACPE, required
• CPE equivalencies granted per established guidelines of individual professional organizations
• Previous hospice experience, preferred
• Minimum one-year supervised experience in medical, educational or religious agency or institution
• Five years full-time experience as a Healthcare Chaplain
• Board Certification (BCC) from APC (Association of Professional Chaplains), NAJC (National Association of Jewish Chaplains), NACC (National Association of Catholic Chaplains), or CASC (Canadian Association for Spiritual Care)
• Qualifications for state-specific requirements above minimum education standards are as follows:
• CT: Minimum three-years’ experience providing pastoral or spiritual care

Responsibilities

As a Spiritual Counselor III, you will:

• Support families and communities through the anticipatory grief and post-death bereavement processes
• Complete the spiritual needs comprehensive assessment of a patient and family-of-choice for all patients admitted to hospice services
• Serve as liaison to the patient and family’s community of faith
• Respond to patient and family needs
• Support patient and family’s clergy, or other spiritual caregiver, as relates to the terminal illness of the patients
• Build relationships of care and concerns partnering with persons in their spiritual journey, empowering them to draw from their identified areas of strength and support
