Job summary

Interim HealthCare Hospice in Wellington, KS seeks a Part-time Hospice Chaplain to support patients and families with spiritual care during a meaningful season of life.

The role includes assessing spiritual needs, coordinating services with clergy or counselors, maintaining records, and contributing to the interdisciplinary care plan, with funeral services as requested.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited seminary or theology program (BD, MDiv or equivalent).
• Experience working with death and dying, and with patients' families or caregivers.

Responsibilities

As a Hospice Chaplain, here's a big-picture view of what you will do:

• Conduct assessments of Hospice patients and their families' spiritual needs
• Ensure the appropriate spiritual services are provided in a timely manner by either providing such services to the patient/family or coordinating the provision of services with community clergy or spiritual counselors.
• Maintains records of spiritual services utilization and related activities as directed.
• Participates in the development of the interdisciplinary group plan of care to meet identified spiritual needs.
• Provides funeral or memorial services for patients as requested.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

• Graduate of accreditedseminary, school of theology and/or religious sturdies program (BD, MDiv or equivalent theological degree.)
• Experience working with death and dying, terminally ill individuals and their families or caregivers.
