Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Chaplain for Elmbrook Hospital in Brookfield, WI. The role sits in the Spiritual Care department, offering first-shift, full-time hours to provide sacred care, liturgy, and compassionate support to patients and families.

You will mentor Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) students, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and build meaningful relationships through visitation and counseling, reflecting Ascension's mission of service and healing.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Theology or related field required.
• 3 CPE units required if not board-certified; 4 CPE units preferred.
• Board Certification from ACPE/APC/NACC/CASC/NAJC or ecclesiastical endorsement required.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s): Chaplain obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Board Certification from the ACPE, APC, NACC, CASC, or the NAJC at time of hire or job transfer (or obtained within two years of hire or job transfer; risking termination if not obtained within timeframe) is required. For those not board certified at time of hire or job transfer, ecclesiastical endorsement is required.

Education

• Master's degree or enrolled in a Master's degree program in Theology, Spirituality, Social Work, Divinity, Philosophy, Servant Leadership, Pastoral Studies, Human Behavior, or a related field from an accredited school is required. 3 units of Clinical Pastoral Education accredited by the ACPE, CPEI, or CPSP is required only if not board-certified. 4 units of accredited CPE are preferred.
