Responsibilities
- Serve as the canonical chaplain and rector of Madonna della Strada Chapel working with the Director of Campus Ministry, Campus Minister for Liturgy and Catechesis, and Jesuit Community to ensure a vibrant worshipping community. Responsible for all sacramental record keeping, with assistance provided by the Office Operations and Hospitality Manager.
- Participate as a member of the leadership team of the Division of Mission Integration.
- Assist the University’s efforts to promote a deeper understanding and integration of the Catholic intellectual tradition, Catholic social and moral teaching, Ignatian pedagogy, Ignatian spirituality, and related areas.
- Serve as liaison between the University and the Jesuit community in matters of mission integration.
- In cooperation with Campus Ministry team, provide pastoral outreach and care to students through prayer leadership, vocational discernment groups, retreats, response to wellness calls, and spiritual direction.
- Serve on the Mission and Culture Committee and attend all meetings of the full Board of Trustees.
- Serve on the Jesuit Recruitment Committee assisting in identifying and recruiting Jesuits to study and work in various capacities at the University.
- Support the Division of University Advancement, as requested, in the promotion of mission-related activities and efforts.
- Represent the University to external constituencies as requested by the president or vice president for mission integration.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education And Work Experience
Master’s degree in theology or a social science-related area and two years of ministry experience. Must be a priest of the Society of Jesus.
