Responsibilities

  • Prepare completed environmental test chambers for shipment following detailed instructions and checklists.
  • Detach/attach, label, and package electrical panels, monitors, sensors, and other items per shipping requirements.
  • Clean chambers to remove dirt, fingerprints, and debris; protect surfaces from damage during transport.
  • Install labels, padding, wrapping, and coverings and secure doors, panels, and components for shipment.
  • Load pallets, document contents, and ensure items are accounted for before release.
  • Identify missing or damaged items and report prior to shipment release.
  • Perform final visual checks to ensure chamber readiness for shipment.

1st shift position

Full Time

Regular Hours: 6:30am to 3:0pm Monday to Friday

The Chamber Shipping Preparation Technician is responsible for preparing completed environmental test chambers and related equipment for shipment to customers. This is a hands‑on position that ensures each chamber is clean, protected, properly secured, and ready for transportation.

This position works closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Shipping & Receiving to make sure chambers are properly prepared before they leave Russells Technical Products.

The Chamber Shipping Preparation Technician does not have primary responsibility for shipping paperwork, carrier scheduling, or loading trucks. The focus of this role is the physical preparation and protection of the chamber for shipment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
  • 1. This position has no supervisory responsibility.
  • 2. This position reports to the Shipping Lead.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • 1. Chamber Preparation - Prepare completed environmental test chambers for shipment while following chamber-specific shipping preparation instructions and checklists.
    • a. Detach, reattach, label and/or package for shipment of electrical panels, monitors, sensor wires, and other items per shipping requirements.
    • b. Follow detailed cleaning procedures to clean chambers and remove dirt, fingerprints, debris, labels, and other materials as needed.
    • c. Protect painted, stainless steel, glass, and other finished surfaces from damage during transportation.
    • d. Install labels, protective materials, padding, wrapping, and coverings as required.
    • e. Secure doors, panels, shelves, components, accessories, loose components, and other items that could move or become damaged during transportation.
    • f. Prepare accessories, manuals, parts, and other items for shipment as directed.
    • g. Build specialty wood pallets/skids as needed for shipments.
    • h. Load pallets with product while documenting contents per pallet with pictures and in written format as needed.
    • i. Identify and report missing, damaged, or incomplete items before the chamber is released for shipment.
    • j. Perform a final visual check to ensure the chamber is ready for shipment.
    • k. Follow established procedures for preparing skids, pallets, blocking, and other shipping supports as needed for protecting/securing equipment during handling and transportation. Properly band, wrap and protect chambers.
    • l. Assist with rigging operations as needed.

Salary: $20.00 to $25.00/hour

  • 4. Ability to use basic hand tools including reading a tape measure, hammer, impact drill, and nail gun.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2. Experience with rigging, material handling, or securing equipment for transportation.
  • 3. Experience reading basic drawings, diagrams, or work instructions.
  • 4. Experience working with environmental test chambers, HVAC equipment, or other industrial equipment.
