Job summary

Seeds of Peace Camp in Maine is seeking a Challenge Course Assistant to support the daily operations of the Challenge Course, belaying climbers, maintaining gear, and creating a safe, encouraging environment for campers.

You will work with the Challenge Course Manager to provide instruction, supervision, and support to ensure each participant has a positive, confidence-building experience. Must be 18+ and certified in first aid/CPR, with a love for outdoor work and kids.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Certified in standard first aid and CPR.
• Knowledge of climbing, rope care, and maintenance.
• Extreme attention to detail and safety needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of all patrons & members; remedy all unsafe practices or conditions immediately.
• Demonstrate and instruct proper spotting techniques.
• Inspect, issue, and maintain Challenge Course equipment; document unsafe equipment and remove it from inventory for repair or replacement.
• Demonstrate good judgment on group dynamics.
• Provide first aid in emergency situations.
• Maintain positive public relations with members and guests.
• Perform general custodial and maintenance functions of the course, as necessary.

In this hands-on role, you’ll support daily operations of the Challenge Course by belaying climbers, maintaining equipment, and creating a safe, encouraging, and fun environment for campers.
