Job summary

Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry is seeking an experienced chairside Dental Assistant in North Carolina. You will assist the dentist across general and restorative procedures, take radiographs and impressions, and help patients understand treatment and costs while securing the next appointment.

This in-person role requires reliability, a positive attitude, and teamwork. Proficiency with radiography and Denticon is a plus, and high hygiene standards are expected throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• 1 to 2+ years of chairside dental assisting experience.
• Experience presenting treatment plans and discussing financial arrangements with patients.
• Experience scheduling treatment chairside and managing provider schedule.
• Working knowledge of dental insurance and procedure terminology.
• Radiography certification / state-required credentials: NC DA II, SC, or VA as applicable.
• Current CPR/BLS or willingness to obtain.
• Able to perform physical duties of chairside work.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist chairside across general and restorative procedures.
• Take radiographs and impressions, and chart accurately.
• Set up, break down, and turnover operatories on schedule.
• Sterilize instruments and follow OSHA and infection control standards.
• Present treatment plans and explain recommendations in plain language.
• Discuss fees, insurance estimates, and payment options with patients and help them say yes.
• Schedule the patient's next visit while in the chair and confirm upcoming appointments by phone/text.
• Fill openings and cancellations and follow up on unscheduled treatment.
• Coordinate handoff with the front desk and support teammates as needed.
