Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis invites applicants for a Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) Catechist at Mary Queen of Peace. The role involves leading or assisting Atrium sessions during regular school hours and helping children listen to, meditate on, and live out the Word of God.

Collaborate with parish and school faith formation teams to create a prayerful, orderly Atrium environment that supports developmentally appropriate spiritual growth for PreK-12 children.

Qualifications

• Active practicing Catholic with a passion for early childhood spiritual formation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with parish and school faith formation teams.

Responsibilities

• Session Preparation: Prepare and set up materials for weekly Atrium sessions, ensuring the space remains clean, orderly, and inviting.
• Instruction & Guidance: Lead or assist small groups of children through CGS presentations and quiet work time aligned with CGS principles.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the CGS team, parish staff, and school educators to support the spiritual formation of the children.
• Atrium Management: Maintain essential Atrium materials and ensure the space reflects a quiet, contemplative, and reverence-filled environment.
