Job summary

Mary Queen of Peace is seeking a faithful and dedicated Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) Catechist to lead or assist children during regular school hours.

The CGS Catechist works collaboratively with the parish and school faith formation teams to create a prayerful, orderly, and developmentally appropriate Atrium environment where children can listen to, meditate on, and live out the Word of God.

Qualifications

• Must be an active practicing Catholic.
• Must meet archdiocesan Safe Environment/background check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Session Preparation: Prepare materials for weekly Atrium sessions and maintain a clean, inviting space.
• Instruction & Guidance: Lead or assist small groups through CGS presentations and quiet work time according to CGS principles.
• Team Collaboration: Work with CGS team, parish staff, and school educators to support spiritual formation of children.
• Atrium Management: Keep Atrium materials organized and ensure a quiet, reverent atmosphere.
