Job summary

Bayside Solutions is seeking a CGD Engineer to support the development and execution of commercial-grade dedication (CGD) plans, qualification plans, and receipt inspection activities for items supporting the Chrysalis and other projects.

The role involves interfacing with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction to ensure CGD tasks align with installation schedules, vendor evaluations, and procurement strategies. Strong communication and independent work skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or other technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the related field.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365.
  • Understanding of ASME NQA-1 requirements.
  • Knowledge of nuclear facility principles and operation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and provide reviews of CGD plans.
  • Develop and provide reviews of qualification plans, considering mechanical, electrical, radiological, and seismic effects for items being qualified.
  • Interface with the Engineering organization to identify safety functions, failure modes, and use cases of items.
  • Interface with Procurement and Construction to understand how CGD tasks affect installation dates.
  • Support the development of procurement strategies with Engineering and other Procurement staff, including the development of RFPs.
  • Complete commercial-grade surveys of vendors.
  • Generate OSDD reports as required.
  • Generate nonconformance reports (NCRs) as required.

Job description

We are seeking a CGD Engineer to support the development and execution of commercial-grade dedication (CGD) plans, qualification plans, and receipt inspection activities for items in support of the construction of the Chrysalis and other projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and provide reviews of CGD plans.
  • Develop and provide reviews of qualification plans, considering the mechanical, electrical, radiological, and seismic effects for items being qualified.
  • Interface with the Engineering organization to identify safety functions, failure modes, and use cases of items.
  • Interface with Procurement and Construction organizations to understand how CGD tasks affect installation dates.
  • Support the development of procurement strategies with Engineering and other Procurement staff, including the development of requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Complete commercial-grade surveys of vendors, as required.
  • Generate Over, Short, Damage, and Discrepant (OSDD) reports as required.
  • Generate nonconformance reports (NCRs) as required.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or other technical field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the related field.
  • Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft 365 software.
  • Understanding of ASME NQA-1 requirements.
  • Understanding of nuclear facility principles and operation.
  • Ability to develop strong vendor relationships.
  • Ability to work accurately and independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in commercial-grade dedication (EPRI NP 5652).
  • Experience in environmental qualification of equipment (e.g., electrical and mechanical aging, seismic testing in accordance with IEEE 344).
