Job description

Shape the future of nuclear medicine as a CGD Engineer in a first-of-a-kind facility, where your expertise will directly support life-saving cancer diagnostics and therapeutics.

Job Description:

We are an industry leader in next-generation fusion technology, currently constructing a massive, state-of-the-art medical isotope production facility in Janesville, Wisconsin. We are seeking a proactive Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) Engineer to support the development and execution of CGD plans, qualification plans, and receipt inspection activities. In this role, you will act as a critical technical liaison between our engineering teams and lab technicians, translating safety functions into rigorous test plans to ensure all commercial items meet stringent Quality Level 1 (QL-1) standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and provide comprehensive reviews of CGD plans to qualify commercial items for QL-1 applications.
  • Write and review qualification test plans, evaluating the mechanical, electrical, radiological, and seismic effects on critical components.
  • Interface directly with the engineering organization to identify safety functions, failure modes, and use cases for procured items.
  • Act as the primary liaison between engineering and the lab technicians executing the tests, providing hands-on support in the lab when needed.
  • Take ownership of in-progress testing documents and coordinate the completion of leftover vendor work.
  • Generate nonconformance reports (NCRs) and Over, Short, Damage, and Discrepant (OSDD) reports to maintain strict quality control.
  • Collaborate with Project Management and Construction teams to align procurement engineering tasks with critical installation schedules.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3 and 5+ years of engineering experience in a related industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • A demonstrated ability to write and develop test plans based on safety functions and operational requirements.
  • Exposure to commercial grade dedication processes or related quality testing protocols.
  • Direct experience with commercial grade dedication standards such as EPRI NP5652 and ASME NQA-1 is highly preferred.
  • Experience with equipment qualification, particularly seismic qualification testing and aging studies, is a strong plus.
  • A background in designing or calculating components like electrical panels, valves, steel frames, or instruments is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with nuclear facility principles, operations, or highly regulated adjacent industries.
  • Hands-on capability and willingness to work with lab machinery and testing equipment.

We offer a highly competitive compensation package including a strong base salary, annual bonus potential, and comprehensive benefits, along with relocation assistance. You will enjoy a flexible work environment with core hours and openness to a hybrid schedule with occasional travel.
