This role provides outsourced accounting and advisory services to our clients within the commercial real estate industry.
Responsibilities
- Manage a remote accounting team, including scope of work, job time budgets, and profitability.
- Provide CFO advisory services to clients through scheduled remote meetings regarding financial statement interpretation and use.
- Serve as the direct point of contact for real estate investment client engagements.
- Partner with clients from private equity, joint ventures, and other investors, focusing on the real estate industry.
- Research and share knowledge of best practices in areas of business concern or interest to each client.
- Calculate investor returns, budget/forecast asset performance, and prepare financial data for loan covenants.
- Advise on cash flow, debt structure, and leverage.
- Leverage data analytics and embrace new technology, including various accounting software.
- Provide technical accounting assistance to clients and internal teams.
- Advise clients on process improvements in their accounting departments and internal controls.
- Meet with investors to review management reports and key performance indicators.
- Prepare financial data for loan covenants when applicable.
- Mentor and train direct reports to grow in their roles and responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance.
- 10+ years of advanced, hands-on full cycle accounting experience, including financial statement preparation within the commercial real estate industry.
- Previous public accounting experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
- Ability to quickly embrace, adapt, and learn new technology, including various accounting software.
- Experience with Netsuite, Yardi, Appfolio, QuickBooks Online, and Sage Intacct preferred but not required.
- Proven ability to build and manage relationships.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred but not required.
- Experience with cost accounting, inventory valuation reporting, and financial forecasting.
- Ability to adapt and learn quickly.

- Our compensation package includes an estimated base pay range of $125,000 to $185,000, with potential for future increases. Actual salary depends on location, skills, experience, and other factors.
