Job summary

One Voice Mississippi, Inc. is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance function, overseeing accounting, budgeting, grants management, audits, and compliance while aligning financial decisions with our mission of equity and justice in Mississippi.

This executive role requires a CPA (or in progress), 7+ years in financial management including senior leadership, and the ability to build systems and manage risk in a nonprofit housing context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/business administration (minimum).
• CPA holder or in progress required.
• 7+ years of financial management experience; 3+ years in senior financial leadership, nonprofit housing sector preferred.
• Experience with nonprofit accounting, government funding, grants management, and regulatory compliance desirable.
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit financial principles, reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
• Leadership skills to build and guide a high-performing team.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization’s mission.
• Oversee accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Ensure financial health and sustainability of the organization.
• Provide financial leadership to CEO, senior management, and Board.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and accurate financial reporting.
• Lead audit processes and relationships with auditors.
