Job summary

Stout is seeking a Manager/Senior Manager level professional to lead accounting operations engagements for a diverse client base, including middle-market and private equity-backed firms. The role emphasizes technical accounting, process improvement, and collaboration with CFOs and controllers.

You will oversee month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls, while mentoring junior staff and contributing to business development and innovation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 6+ years for Manager level and 8+ for Senior Manager in accounting operations or related finance functions.
• CPA preferred.
• Experience managing accounting operations within corporate or outsourced environments.
• Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or post-acquisition integrations.
• Experience with private equity-backed businesses or middle-market environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations engagements, including month-end close, GL, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Support clients with complex accounting matters, post-acquisition integration, and policy alignment.
• Supervise junior professionals and provide guidance on engagement delivery.
• Assist in business development through proposals and client presentations.
• Adopt AI tools and automation to improve accounting processes and reporting.
