Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA and/or CPA/CFA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership, with 5+ years in a senior role (CFO/VP Finance).
• Experience in Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, CPG, or FMCG.
• Experience in Private Equity-backed environments with sponsor reporting.
• Hands-on with Dynamics BC or similar mid-market ERP (NAV/NetSuite/SAP).
• Advanced cost accounting, 13-week cash forecasting, modeling, and commodity risk mitigation.

Location: Long Island, NY Area (Relocation Assistance Provided)

Salary: $250,000- 280,000 + bonus

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a strategic, growth-oriented Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial strategy, operations, and long-term planning for a premier, private equity-backed specialty food manufacturer. An established national specialty manufacturer with multi-site production facilities and widespread multi-channel distribution, the organization is poised for continued expansion. Full relocation assistance is provided for the right candidate.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and partnering closely with Private Equity sponsors, the CFO will serve as a key business partner to executive leadership. This role is responsible for driving financial performance, optimizing multi-site operational cost structures, managing commodity/raw material risk, and implementing scalable systems (including Microsoft Dynamics Business Central) to support organic and M&A growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Executive Leadership & Financial Strategy:

• Strategic Growth: Partner with the CEO, Board, and PE partners to establish short- and long-term financial goals, capital allocations, and strategic roadmaps.
• Team Development: Direct, mentor, and scale the finance, accounting, and IT/systems teams to ensure robust internal controls and operational excellence.
• Board & Sponsor Relations: Drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual PE reporting cadences, board packages, and bank covenant compliance.

Operational Finance, Cost Accounting & Commodity Risk Management:

• Manufacturing Cost Control: Collaborate closely with Operations to manage plant-level cost accounting, labor efficiency, inventory valuations, and overhead allocation across multiple production facilities.
• Raw Material & Supply Chain Risk: Lead strategies to mitigate price volatility in key agricultural commodities (e.g., cocoa, sugar, packaging), including hedging and strategic supplier negotiations.
• Margin Optimization: Analyze SKU-level profitability across retail, mass, grocery, and e-commerce sales channels to drive gross margin expansion.

Reporting, Accounting & ERP Systems:

• GAAP Compliance & Audit: Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of all financial statements, disclosures, and annual audits in full compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• ERP Optimization: Leverage and optimize Microsoft Dynamics Business Central across production, inventory management, and financial reporting workflows.
• Working Capital & Treasury: Manage cash flow, debt structures, capital expenditure (CapEx) investments, and relationships with lending institutions.

M&A, Capital Structure & Strategic Investments:

• Evaluate and execute strategic investments, add-on acquisitions, facility expansions, and footprint integrations.
• Oversee corporate insurance, legal compliance, risk management, and regulatory governance.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field. Master's degree (MBA) and/or CPA/CFA designation strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership, with at least 5+ years in a senior executive role (CFO, VP of Finance, or Finance Director).
• Direct experience within Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, CPG, or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).
• Proven track record working within a Private Equity-backed environment, managing sponsor reporting, board presentations, and debt covenants.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (or similar mid-market manufacturing ERP systems like NAV, NetSuite, or SAP).
• Advanced skills in cost accounting, 13-week cash forecasting, complex financial modeling, and commodity risk mitigation.
