Job summary

Central Texas College is seeking a Flight Instructor to deliver quality flight, simulator and ground instruction in accordance with FAA regulations and CTC Aviation Science procedures. The role requires FAA CFI with A-Single engine rating and at least 45 semester hours of college credit; associates degree preferred.

The instructor will manage flight records, schedule local flights, and support weekend duties while maintaining aircraft airworthiness and safety.

Qualifications

• Must hold FAA Certified Flight Instructor Certificate with Airplane Single Engine Class Rating.
• Must hold FAA First or Second Class Medical Certificate.
• CFI-Instrument Airplane (CFI-I) rating and Multi-engine Instructor (MEI) preferred.
• Associates Degree preferred; 45 semester hours college credits.
• Ability to read, write articulately and analyze information.
• Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide Flight and Ground Instruction to assigned students according to CTC Flight Standardization and syllabus.
• Meet with each assigned student as scheduled; ensure endorsements and entries are in flight records and logbooks.
• Maintain current, accurate, and complete student training records.
• Maintain Flight Simulators (updates, inspections, and certification flights).
• Assist in scheduling and dispatch of students per CTC policies and procedures.
• Schedule students for local solo and cross-country flights; act as Instructor in Charge during night/weekend duties.
