Job summary

Gore is seeking a Modeling & Simulation Scientist to advance CFD analyses for medical devices. You will model cardiovascular hemodynamics, support design iterations and regulatory submissions, and work with cross-functional teams to accelerate development through virtual testing.

The position offers hybrid work from Flagstaff or Phoenix, AZ, and opportunities to push data-driven methods using AI/ML and PINNs in a medical device context.

Qualifications

• MS in mechanical or biomedical engineering with 5+ years of CFD experience.
• CFD software experience: Fluent, Star CCM+, COMSOL or similar with pre/post-processing.
• Experience in cardiovascular hemodynamics.
• Programming/scripting in Python or MATLAB for automation.
• Experience creating user-defined functions and AI/ML.
• Solid modeling experience with SolidWorks.
• Ability to manage multiple simulations and collaborate across teams.
• Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support in medical product design, optimization and development.
• Perform CFD/FSI modeling of transient flow, transport, multiphase and heat transfer.
• Advance data-driven modeling with AI/ML and PINNs techniques.
• Develop hybrid data-driven and physics-based modeling approaches.
• Verify and validate computational analyses and document results.
• Support continuous improvement of modeling workflows and tools.
• Review analyses and communicate results through reports and presentations.
• Assist in regulatory submissions with simulation insights.
