Russell Tobin in Fremont, CA is seeking a simulation-focused Mechanical Engineer to design and optimize advanced semiconductor equipment using CFD and multiphysics modeling. This 24-month contract role is onsite in Fremont, with a schedule aligned to a 40-hour week.

The candidate will apply ANSYS Fluent and other tools to analyze gas delivery, heat and mass transfer, and support the development of plasma processing and chamber simulations, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Plasma Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with CFD, chemical reaction modeling, reacting-flow simulations, gas-phase chemistry, and species transport.
• Solid understanding of fluid mechanics, gas flow dynamics, heat transfer, mass transfer, and thermodynamics.
• Experience supporting gas delivery systems and thermal-fluid design.
• Proficiency with ANSYS Fluent (strongly preferred) and experience with at least one additional simulation tool such as STAR-CCM+, COMSOL Multiphysics, or Simcenter 3D.
• Working knowledge of Siemens NX (preferred), Creo/ProE, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
• Semiconductor industry experience, including plasma processing, etch, deposition, or chamber/process simulation, is a strong plus.
