Job summary

Qnity seeks a CFD and Multiphysics Modeling Engineer to develop and apply CFD, heat transfer, and related multiphysics models across its engineering teams in Wilmington, Delaware. You will collaborate with scientists and engineers to frame problems, select modeling approaches, and translate results into practical engineering guidance.

A core objective is establishing confidence in simulation-driven decision-making through validated models.

Qualifications

• CFD with knowledge of heat, mass and transport phenomena.
• Master’s Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience applying CFD, heat-transfer, or multiphysics modeling to engineering problems.
• Strong foundation in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, numerical methods, and the mathematical modeling of physical systems.
• Familiarity with turbulence modeling, multiphase flow, conjugate heat transfer, species transport, or other coupled transport phenomena.
• Experience with model setup, meshing, solver configuration, numerical troubleshooting, postprocessing, and interpretation of simulation results.
• Proficiency in Python, or MATLAB, or C++, or similar programming environments for simulation customization, workflow automation, data processing, and analysis.
• Familiarity with model verification and validation, convergence assessment, sensitivity analysis, model calibration, parameter estimation, or uncertainty quantification.
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
• Ability to balance scientific rigor, business priorities, available information, and project timelines.

Responsibilities

• Technical Problem Definition: Translate challenges into clear modeling objectives and determine scope and fidelity.
• Physics-Based Modeling and Simulation: Develop and apply physics-based models for fluid flow, heat and mass transfer, and multiphysics phenomena.
• Model Reliability and Validation: Validate model assumptions, assess numerical stability and uncertainty, and collaborate on validation experiments.
• Engineering Insight and Business Impact: Translate results into actionable recommendations for design, development, and optimization.
• Cross-Business Collaboration: Build relationships and develop reusable modeling methods and workflows across teams.
