Job summary

Peraton is seeking a mid-level CFD engineer to support NAVAIR in Lexington Park, MD. You will work on jet and rotorcraft propulsion projects, using in-house CFD tools to build 3D flow models and assess performance.

You will generate post-processed results and present findings to managers, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The role requires a solid CFD background, rotorcraft familiarity, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA (or 6 years with MS/MA; 3 years with PhD) in relevant field.
  • BS in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven history setting up, running, and assessing CFD simulations independently.

Responsibilities

  • Support and enhance ongoing fluid dynamics analyses in Propulsion and Power.
  • Develop 3D flow models using in-house tools for propulsion customers.
  • Analyze flow separation, nozzle/inlet performance, and heat transfer for Navy aircraft systems.
  • Propose improved inlet/nozzle designs to improve efficiency and durability.
  • Post-process results and prepare status reports for program managers.
