Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Computational Fluid Dynamics Engineer to lead CFD design models for mission-critical data center projects. You will guide the CFD project team through design and construction, adapting models to budget and client needs, and producing technical reports.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree with ABET accreditation, FE (preferred), and strong communication skills. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit BIM, and hydraulic/HVAC analysis tools is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related ABET-accredited program with 3 years of mechanical engineering experience.
  • Alternative: FE exam with 3 years of experience.
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering with 2 years experience (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), 3D rendering, hydraulic and HVAC analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead CFD analyses from conceptual phase through design completion to meet project needs.
  • Develop CFD design models and adapt to budget, design factors, or client requirements.
  • Prepare and present technical CFD reports for clients.
  • Ensure QA/QC adherence and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and project teams.
  • Provide design recommendations and information exchange guidance.
