Fickett Structural Solutions, Inc. is a structural engineering, inspection and testing firm with offices in Madison and Milwaukee Wisconsin.

We are seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) who is actively performing welding inspections. This direct hire position will be assigned to either our Madison or Milwaukee office and involves inspection work on commercial structures, bridges and related facilities.

Qualifications

• Holds a current certificate as a Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) with D1.1 or D1.5 work experience.
• 1 year or more of experience as a CWI performing in-service weld inspections or shop welding inspections.
• Familiar with the scope and limitations of inspection methods and able to work without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections (VT) on structural steel for buildings, bridges, dams and related structures.
• Coordinate inspections with site project managers and the Engineer of Record as required.
• Communicate inspection findings and nonconformances to project personnel and prepare detailed reports.
• Ensure compliance with AWS, ASTM, IBC, ICC, OSHA and other applicable codes and safety policies.
• Maintain and operate inspection/testing equipment and ensure its proper use.
