Job summary

Fickett Structural Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) actively performing inspections for work on commercial structures and fabrications in Wisconsin.

The position supports inspections in Madison or Milwaukee offices with travel to varied project sites. The role requires a CWI, familiarity with D1.1/D1.5, and the ability to produce detailed reports while upholding safety and code compliance.

Qualifications

• Holds a current CWI certificate with D1.1 or D1.5 work experience.
• 1+ year of experience as a CWI performing in-service or shop inspections.
• Familiar with structural steel welding inspections and reporting.
• Ability to obtain ICC Special Inspections 2.1/2.2 within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specs and shop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform VT visual inspections on structural steel for buildings, bridges, dams and more.
• Coordinate inspections with project managers and Engineer of Record.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports with drawings and photos of nonconformances.
• Ensure compliance with AWS, ASTM, IBC, ICC, OSHA and client requirements.
• Travel as needed and maintain safety and equipment standards.
