Job summary

Pennoni is seeking Certified Welding Inspectors to support QA fabrication inspection programs for transportation infrastructure in Augusta, ME and surrounding states. The role focuses on inspection of structural steel fabrication, welding and coatings at off-site facilities supporting DOT projects.

Travel to project sites is required, with adherence to AWS D1.1/D1.5, AASHTO, and DOT specifications. Strong documentation and communication skills are essential for detailed reporting and client

Qualifications

• AWS CWI certification required.
• 0–3 years structural steel fabrication inspection experience.
• Experience in fabrication shop environments and travel readiness.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection of structural steel fabrication, welding, and coatings.
• Verify compliance with shop drawings, WPS/PQRs, and welder certifications.
• Ensure adherence to AWS D1.1/D1.5, AASHTO, and DOT specifications.
• Monitor fabrication processes including welding, bolting, and coating.
• Witness and document NDT activities.
• Identify and report non-conformances and prepare daily reports.
• Coordinate with fabricators and project teams and provide updates to clients.
