Job summary

Kiwa Group is expanding its QC team and seeks a Shop Inspector- Certified Welding Inspector to perform and witness inspections in Ogden, UT. The role emphasizes compliance with codes, customer specifications, and Kiwa PPI procedures, working 2-3 days per week over 6 months to 1 year.

Responsibilities include witnessing inspections, ensuring equipment calibration, verifying certifications, and generating detailed reports. Strong communication and safety practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Current CWI certification required.
• 5+ years of shop inspection experience.
• Thorough understanding of third-party inspection processes (NDE, FAT, Assembly, etc.).
• Knowledge of industry quality standards and codes (API, ASNT, ASME, NACE, DS-1, etc.).
• Good verbal and written communication with customers and coworkers.
• Basic PC skills and spreadsheet familiarity.
• Ability to make day-to-day operational decisions and adapt methods to achieve best results.

Responsibilities

• Witness inspections and testing per inspection test plans and quality plans.
• Verify calibration/certification of inspection, measurement, and test equipment.
• Ensure technician certifications are current for the scope of activity.
• Communicate progress and results to coordinator and customer as required.
• Generate reports documenting inspection results and activity status.
• Promote safe work practices and comply with quality management system requirements.
