Job summary

Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM) is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to ensure welded structural steel components meet project requirements. You will perform in-process and final inspections on skid frames, E-house components, and related fabrications in a 100% in-office San Antonio setting.

You will verify weld quality, review welder qualifications, and coordinate NDE activities with engineering, project management, and customers, contributing to ongoing quality and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code—Steel.
• Minimum 3–5 years welding inspection experience in structural steel, industrial fabrication, or similar heavy fabrication.
• Experience inspecting GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, and/or GTAW welding processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspection of weldments and related fabricated assemblies.
• Verify welds meet approved WPSs and are performed by qualified welders.
• Review welder qualification records, WPSs, PQRs, and calibration records.
• Coordinate and review NDE activities (MT, PT, UT, RT) when required.
• Maintain accurate inspection documentation and communicate findings clearly.
