Job summary

Highland Refrigeration in Washington state is seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. The Welder role covers fabrication and welding of pipes and fittings for our refrigeration projects, using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in multiple positions.

You will inspect welds for quality, maintain safe equipment, and keep a clean, organized job site. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, welding certification SMAW-1 or GTAW-4, and experience with ammonia refrigeration

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• SMAW-1 or GTAW-4 Welding Certification.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Layout and fabrication/welding of pipe and fittings.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
• Keeps job site clean: picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
• Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, brings problems to the attention of the Safety Director.
• Maintain a neat and clean appearance and motivated, positive attitude.
• Other duties as assigned.
