Job summary

Knife River is seeking an experienced welder/maintenance technician to perform welding and fabrication across multiple metals, follow blueprints, and ensure safe, high-quality repairs on plant and equipment.

The role requires a valid DOT medical certificate, Hawaii driver’s license, and physical capacity to work on various heavy equipment in a dynamic job site environment. Flexible schedule with extended hours may be required.

Qualifications

• AWS welding certification required.
• Proven welding experience in SMAW, TIG, MIG.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Familiarity with safety standards and PPE usage.
• Own tools and ability to maintain equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and maintenance on structural components across metals.
• Operate welding machines and related shop equipment.
• Read blueprints, lay out, and cut pieces to spec.
• Inspect welds and ensure quality and safety.
• Maintain tools and document work performed.
• Coordinate with team leads and assist other trades as needed.
