Job summary

Knife River is seeking a Maintenance Technician to mechanically maintain and fabricate plant components, identify and repair mechanical failures, and implement preventative maintenance programs. You will troubleshoot diverse equipment, weld parts, operate related systems, and ensure safety protocols are followed to keep production flowing.

The role requires hands-on craftsmanship, the ability to work outside in all seasons, and good teamwork across shifts.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of plant operation, conveyors and maintenance fundamentals.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and weld/fabricate parts.
• Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to communicate with supervisors and co-workers for repairs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair plant equipment to maximize uptime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and perform preventative maintenance.
• Weld and fabricate parts as needed.
• Operate lifting devices and manage plant documentation.
• Order parts and coordinate with supervisor for timely repairs.
• Follow safety policies and PPE requirements.
